Estimate your net take-home pay per paycheck from your gross annual salary and pay frequency, after federal income tax (2026 brackets and standard deduction) and FICA. A $75,000 annual salary paid biweekly (26 times a year) works out to a gross paycheck of roughly $2,885, which after federal tax and FICA typically lands closer to $2,370 take-home, before any state tax.

USA Paycheck Calculator FAQs

Why is my actual paycheck different?
This uses the 2026 federal brackets and the standard deduction for your filing status, but real withholding also depends on your W-4, state and local taxes, and pre-tax deductions like 401(k) or health insurance, none of which are included here.
What is FICA?
FICA (7.65%) covers Social Security (6.2%, up to a $184,500 wage limit in 2026) and Medicare (1.45%, plus 0.9% on high earners) — a mandatory payroll deduction for nearly all US employees.
Does this include state income tax?
No — state tax rates vary widely (some states have none at all), so this focuses on federal withholding and FICA only.
Why does my employer withhold more than my actual tax bill?
Withholding is an estimate spread across the year; any difference between what was withheld and your actual tax owed is settled (as a refund or a bill) when you file your return.
