Percentage Calculator: type two numbers and get every common percentage result at once. It shows what percent one number is of another, what a percentage of a number is (for example 20% of 500), the percentage change between two numbers (percentage increase or decrease), the percentage difference, and what a number becomes when you add or subtract a percentage. It is useful for grades, discounts, tax, tips, price changes, statistics and any everyday percentage question. 45 as a percentage of 180, for instance, works out to (45 divided by 180) x 100, or 25%, and going from 80 to 100 is a 25% increase. Percentage Calculator FAQs

How do I calculate what percent one number is of another?
Divide the part by the whole and multiply by 100. For example, 25 out of 200 is 25 divided by 200 times 100, or 12.5%. Put 25 in Value and 200 in Of total and read the first result.
How do I calculate a percentage of a number, like 20% of 500?
Multiply the number by the percentage and divide by 100. Put 20 in Value and 500 in Of total and read the What is 20% of 500 line, which is 100.
How do I calculate percentage increase or decrease?
Subtract the old value from the new value, divide by the old value and multiply by 100. Put the old number in Value and the new number in Of total, and read the Percentage change line. Going from 80 to 100 is a 25% increase, and going from 100 to 80 is a 20% decrease.
How do I find the percentage difference between two numbers?
Divide the difference between the two numbers by their average and multiply by 100. The Percentage difference line does this for you, so 80 and 100 give 22.22%.
How do I add a percentage to a number, like a price plus 15% tax?
Put the percentage in Value and the number in Of total, then read the increased by line. For example 200 increased by 15% is 230.
How do I subtract a percentage, like a 20% discount?
Put the percentage in Value and the price in Of total, then read the decreased by line. For example 500 decreased by 20% is 400.
Can I use decimals?
Yes, both boxes accept decimal numbers for precise results.
