Add VAT/GST on top of an amount, or extract the tax already included in a total — switch modes depending on whether your figure is tax-exclusive or tax-inclusive. Adding 15% VAT to a PKR 1,000 net price gives PKR 1,150, while extracting VAT that's already baked into a PKR 1,150 total gives back the same PKR 1,000 net figure and PKR 150 tax amount.

Frequently asked questions
What's the difference between "Add tax" and "Extract from total"?
"Add tax" assumes your amount is before tax and adds it on top. "Extract from total" assumes tax is already included and works out how much of the total is tax.
Does this work for any country's tax rate?
Yes — just enter whatever percentage rate applies in your country or region.
My country calls it "sales tax" — can I still use this?
Yes — VAT, GST, and sales tax are all calculated the same way as a percentage of the amount, so the tool works regardless of what your local tax is called.
Can I use this for a receipt that already shows tax separately?
Yes — if you already know the pre-tax amount, use "Add tax" to check the total; if you only have the final total, use "Extract from total" to see the tax portion.
